Overview:
Now
a pension and B&B, La Bonne Vie was renovated with
the help of a local builder who incorporated sympathetic features
to harmonize with the original 18th century stone walls and exposed
beams.
The
tasteful furnishings, in the French style, enhance the light,
open atmosphere. The tiled floors and the old 18th century wood-burning
granite fireplace add to the traditional feel of the property.
Relax
in front of the fireplace in the comfortably furnished lounge
with an aperitif de Normandy. In the summer, sit under one of
the apple trees and enjoy a cocktail or just step out and go for
interesting walks in the countryside. There is a big variety of
birds and birds of prey. If you are lucky sometimes you will spot
a black stork.
|
| Groundfloor:
The cosy main room is 28 sq m in area. It includes a comfortably
furnished lounge area, and a splendid large French window opening
onto the courtyard looking out at the pond with Mandarin ducks.
Madame, with experience of working in one of Normandy's top restaurants with a chef who trained with Jean-Christoph Novelli in Mayfair in London, will prepare a wide variety of french and continental dishes which will
be served by candlelight in the very comfortable dining room. |
|
Upstairs:
An open plan staircase leads from the main room to your rooms,
one en-suite and one with bathroom and toilet. Both rooms have
been lovingly decorated.
All
bedrooms have high-beamed ceilings and are well equipped with
hanging and drawer space.

Outdoor:
The large beautifully landscaped gardens enjoy the sun all day
and have a variety of fruit trees, Mediterranean shrubs and herbs.
The
organic garden supplies the vegetables to the chef;
our chickens, ducks and geese, which enjoy the freedom of the garden, supply all
our eggs. Garden produce is also the source of the chefs homemade jams and chutneys.
There are panoramic views of the country side, the house is situated
on a view point from which you can see the surrounding farms,
rolling hills planted with wheat and corn. Wild life abounds in
the local woods including deer, wild boar and red squirrels.

|
Leisure:
There are many activities in the area: riding, walking, golf, fishing and cycling (bicycles provided). To help you relax there are garden chairs to chill out on and a
barbecue area.
Board
and card games, badminton equipment, paddling pool and boules
etc. We
also provide a file of information on local amenities.
We
hope you will feel at home and enjoy your holiday at La Bonne
Vie as much as we do. |
