Holiday in Normandy - Normandy Golf Courses

Picture of a Normandy golf courseNormandy, a land steeped in Art and History, is blessed with the geography and climate of a golfer's paradise. Of 37 diverse courses which are open year round, 23 have 18 holes or more. In addition to the more prestigious courses and those of international repute are courses accompanied by other amenities, such as for example, a château, sport and fitness centers, seminar facilities... and include coastal golfs and natural courses.

Normandy is gradually becoming a more and more popular golf destination and is now very accessible due to the motorway and ferry-tunnel links. It is less than one hour away from Paris, just across the English channel and with the extension of the A16 motorway it is only three hours away from the Benelux countries. Normandy has preserved the charm of its coast and countryside whilst remaining faithful to its traditional and rich historical past. Normandy is a great destination for holiday golf where one can combine golf with touring, swimming, sailing, horse riding and culture : abbeys, cathedrals and chateaus will satisfy any art lover.

Image of a set of golf clubsWith a huge coastal region going from the monastery island of Mont-Saint-Michel to the port and resort town of Dieppe, one has a big choice of very varied and unusual places to visit in between a day of golf. From the Tatihou island to the chalky cliffs of Etretat, from the American War Cemetery of Colleville to the Chateau Gaillard, from the famous haras du Pin stud farm near Alencon to the medieval town of Rouen, from the appealing harbour of Honfleur to the cliffs and valley of the Suisse Normande, from the D.Day beaches to Monet’s garden at Giverny, you will notice that in Normandy, even if the golf is important, it’s rich historical sights, diverse landscape and local cuisine is complementary and essential.

Our Normandy cuisine boasts Calvados apple brandy and Benedictine liqueur, creams and cheeses, oysters and shellfish, cider and pommeau, fish and foie gras.

Some golf courses near to La Bonne Vie and La Clos de la Roque include:

Agon Coutainville Golf Club
Opened in 1922, Coutainville Golf Course was first a open nine hole links that was neither sheltered by the dunes nor the seafront villas. It was only in 1997 that it became an 18 hole golf course in which four holes are in an orchard setting for a Par total of 68 and 5075m – 5550 yards long. You shouldn’t trust your first impressions, this modest length course is simply explained by it’s short Par3’s (105m and 110 m) leaving comfortable distances for the Par 4’s and 5’s.

Granville Golf Club
The links par excellence, one of the best in France! Behind the dunes, the sea … an authentic traditional links layout that captures the essence of an 80 year by-gone era and the harsh outdoor exposure, keeping it’s fairways both rugged, natural and in perfect condition 365 days a year. Reputed by the local golfers as a Scottish links - “dry feet” course - that can be played all year round.

St Martin de Brehal Golf Club
Located at the resort of Brehal this 9 hole golf course which has situated in a beautfiul location by the sea. The course was created in July 1964 by Guillaume de MANEVILLE and with it's sandy and hilly terrain, makes a challenging course for golfers of all standards.
